A bit late to play the new version but, honestly, it's amazing! You fixed the sound "direction"(plus the lights added on the door help a lot), added levels, added monsters, this is now a fully fledged game and a great one at that! Sadly, my skills haven't improved as much as your game has, but, still, it's a fantastic experience!
Even though I couldn't "finish the night", I absolutely loved it! One thing I feel like it needs to be work on, is the knocking sounds. It might just be my headphones but I couldn't tell which door was being knocked. Other than that I have to say the atmosphere is amazing and please keep working on this, you have great potential here! Keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot! And yeah, I should probably do something about the knocking. Even I don’t always know what door got knocked on, and I figure it’d be completely impossible for someone who doesn’t have headphones. Something I’ll keep in mind if I update the game!
I dont understand the entities, you could give hints on how to stop an entity if you died by it, kinda like doors on roblox. Edit: nvm found the compedium, please add like a notification or smth to let the player know what that is.
Ah, a fellow Doors enjoyer! You make a good point. Maybe I should add some kind of shortcut to a monster’s compendium entry on the game over screen when it catches you.
Thank you for replying! One more thing, you can REALLY expand on this idea you have, u could add more entities, difficulties, and modes (endless,) in a future update! ps, plz increase regen rate of sprint, like the more you wind the clock, the faster you recover!
Hey, guess what? I did expand on this idea! The game’s updated to version 2.0! And yes, it includes a shortcut to the compendium on the game over screen!
This game was pretty fun and I love how you have to use you sounds to get to certain area as it got darker. The only problem I think I had was that when the sounds overlapped itself, it became very hard to identify which door to knock back. Other than that, great game!
Randomly browsing through itch, found this game, and made an account just to comment. This was really good! The sound design and mechanics all flowed very well and learning the rules came naturally on a blind playthrough. The atmosphere was such that I actually felt scared as the night progressed. I love that you put inspirations and your thought process in the description as well! That's an amazing way to learn and get better at game-making. Great job!!
